The Research Release cum symposium on “Divorced Family Support Services” organised by HKFWS’ Divorce Services, was successfully held on 13 December, with over 300 participants from different social welfare and education sectors. The results of the first-ever study on the "Non-residing Divorced Fathers Research" was also released during the event.

We were honored to have Ms. Wendy Chau, Assistant Director of the Social Welfare Department (Family and Child Welfare), and Ir Gary Ko, Vice Chairman of the Admissions, Budgets & Allocations committees of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, as our guest speakers.

In addition to Ms. Christina Suen, Senior Manager and Qualified Parenting Coordinator of HKFWS, the seminar also featured several professional speakers, including Dr. Lau Yuk-king, Part-time Lecturer and Honorary Researcher at the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Prof. Yip Kam-shing, Research Professor at Saint Francis University; and Prof. Shirley Hung, Director of the Social Work Department at Hong Kong Baptist University. They shared insights on the difficulties and challenges faced by different family members during the divorce process and provided recommendations to strengthen support for divorced families and non-cohabiting divorced fathers.
