Strengthening Media Relationships and Deploying Social Media to Maintain Close Communications With Stakeholders From Different Sectors
In order to foster a deeper understanding of our services and mission among the public, the Society has maintained consistent and close communication with the media. We regularly disseminated information on various aspects, including organisational development, service introductions, event updates, and engaging thematic interviews to keep the public well-informed of our work. In recent years, the Society has also proactively expanded its presence on popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. These platforms not only provide interactive channels for stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and age groups, but also serve as vital platforms for sharing our latest news and messages related to family wellbeing. Through these efforts, we effectively reached and engaged with a wide range of audiences.
Collaborating with Corporate Partners to Promote Shared Value
By connecting with various sectors of society and leveraging available resources, the Society strived to organise events and convey positive messages that contribute to the enhancement of family wellbeing. This year, we have collaborated with Reckitt Hong Kong and its brand Dettol, as well as Emperor Motion Pictures to promote family wellbeing and lobby for family values.
In July, 2023, the Society collaborated with Reckitt Hong Kong and Dettol to organise the "Our Place. We CARE" parent-child tidying workshop. Through this workshop, parents learned tidying skills to effectively tidy and clean their homes together with their children. Additionally, interaction kits were distributed in the community to encourage parents and children to set goals and engage in housework challenges together. In January, 2024, our Foster Care Service partnered with Reckitt Hong Kong and Dettol to organise a Chinese New Year cooking workshop for foster families. In addition to making festive food, a professional organiser was invited to share tips on spring cleaning, encouraging the interaction among the children, foster parents and their birth parents, and enhancing their family wellbeing.
In February and March, 2024, the Society partnered with Emperor Motion Pictures to co-organise an exclusive preview screening of the film "We Are Family". The screening was attended by our valued partners, friendly charitable organisations, sponsoring entities, and service users. Through the film and post-screening discussions, the audience delved into the concept of "family" and gained a deeper understanding of "family wellbeing".
Promoting Family Wellbeing Through Diverse Channels in "Family Month 2023"
Returning with the theme "Family Wellbeing in Transition", "Family Month" in 2023 aimed to convey the message of "no matter how the world changes, as long as you are with me, home is where the heart is, and family always comes first". Through city-wide promotions and various partner platforms such as newspapers, magazines, outdoor digital TV, and collaborative posts by local celebrities and influencers on social media, the campaign encourages public participation, with an objective to elevate the importance of family wellbeing in Hong Kong.
Apart from organising the "Homeland" SMART Family-Link Project Family Market 2023 at PMQ in Central again, another key event is the HKJC SMART Family-Link Project x HKFWS: "Child protection in Action" mobile vehicle. The mobile vehicle reached out to the community extensively and promoted positive parenting, with the ultimate goal of fostering a child-loving community and encouraging harmonious families.
